Come join our award winning elite and performance competition companies for the 2023/2024 season. DWKC Company builds a strong dance foundation while emphasizing teamwork, creativity, and leadership. We foster a supportive and dance-loving culture for dancers to grow on and off stage.
Company Auditions

Date and Times: TBA for 2024/25 Season
Mini Company - Ages: 5-8
Junior Company - Ages: 9-12
Teen and Senior Company - Ages: 13-18
The age group your dancer falls into is based on their age as of January 1st, 2024. (Example: At the time of the audition your dancer is 12 but their birthday day is in November and turn 13, they will audition in the teen age group) If you have any questions about the ages, please feel free to ask.
Danceworks KC has 2 different competition companies, Performance Company and Elite Company:
Performance Company
Danceworks KC Performance Company is our novice competition team. This company is for dancers that want to competitively dance, but also participate in other sports or activities. Performance company members will compete at 3 regional (local) competitions throughout the season, and possibly a national competition to finish the season. Dancers will compete 2 to 3 group dances at each competition. Weekly class time commitment: 5 hours
Elite Company
Danceworks KC Elite Company is our premiere competition team. This company is for the dancer whose primary focus and priority is dancing. Elite company members will attend 3 regional (local) competitions, a dance convention, and a possible national competition. During the audition process, these dancers will be considered for select groups with in-studio teachers as well as guest choreographers. If you are wanting to be selected for a specific style of group, dancers must be enrolled in a weekly class of the style. (Example: If selected for an Acro dance the dancer must be enrolled in a weekly Acro class).
Mini Company
Danceworks KC Mini Company is for younger dancers ages 5-8 who are just getting started! Mini company members will attend 3 regional (local) competitions, and a possible national competition. The mini company will compete 1 group dance in their age group and will be included in the full company annual production dance.
